Selling items you do not have a use for anymore can be a difficult process. You can have a yard sale but getting everything sorted and set up takes time. You then need to pay attention the the weather and deal with people coming to your home long before your sale opens being rude and annoying (the "professional" garage sale scrounger). After the sale you need to clean things up, put it in boxes or out at the curb to have the second phase of scavengers make a mess by the road.
There is also post an ad on Craigslist for your items, a once useful source, but now there are people taking advantage of the free resource just to get your contact information or rip you off. If you are careful you can still make good deals but you need to make sure you are dealing with a responsible person.
I will post items for sale on this site for me and my friends. If it works out I will open it up to the general public in Ann Arbor. What will make A2Sale different? I will require a user to be authenticated and live in the Ann Arbor area. You will be able to look at posting as an anonymous user but not get any contact information until you are authenticated. I also hope to have a good resource for area nonprofits and charities to have a good resource to post events.
Please come back soon as we get things developed and item posted for sale. I hope to have things running by early June 2012.
